Hello Iris,
I agree, it is difficult to find nearly as much available for adults. The event is geared toward families with children because the event is put on in conjunction with the Victoria Society for Children with Autism. However, there may be some exhibitors there that are of interest to you and I know of one in particular that works with not just children but also with adults.
I would also recommend calling Community Living Victoria as they may have some programs and services that are of interest to an adult with autism. http://communitylivingvictoria.ca/ I hope that is helpful.

I’m an autistic adult. Will there be anything at this fair for adults on the spectrum? I see plenty of resources for children, but autistic adults are a sadly neglected part of the autism community.

Thanks for stopping by the site and for watching the webinar. Glad you enjoyed it!
I totally understand what you mean about finding it hard to fit dietary changes into a busy schedule. That’s exactly why I got started with this because I would talk to so many parents who wanted to give this a try but just felt it was too overwhelming to get started without some help.

As for preschools, I have heard that Island Montessori House is wonderful with preschoolers with autism. I’m not sure what their rates are like compared to other centres. Otherwise I’ll ask around and see if I can get some other recommendations for you.

Hello Lori, you may be familiar with our play centre.

I’d like toget your advice on two matters.

First, would a separate time for parents and children with autism to come and enjoy Tumblebums be of service to families?

Second, we’re thinking of adding a section of toys, cd’s and dvd’s for children with special needs. I think you might have some insights into the nature of these toys. If you do, we’d be appreciative if you would share them with us.
